In WRI’s March 2024 Technical Blog Part I, we introduced the use of WWR in mechanically stablized earth (MSE) walls per Article 11.10 of the 2020 AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Ninth Edition (AASHTO LRFD). Here in Part II we will look more closely at the AASHTO LRFD provisions and how WWR fits into the design procedure.
